    Newtown’s Kirrewur Court sells for undisclosed figure

    A SPRAWLING Newtown property built in 1891 for prominent Geelong wool merchant Charles Shannon quietly changed hands last month in an off-market sale.

    New owners wanted for 160-year-old historic Batesford cottage

    A PIECE of Geelong’s history has hit the market in the form of a historic bluestone cottage built for the Victorian Railways Department 160 years ago.

    Viaduct Cottage was built in 1858 to accommodate a caretaker while the railway viaduct was built over the Moorabool River.

    Once the viaduct was completed in 1862 the cottage was sold and has been in the same family ever since....
